We include all games of all types (correspondence, internet, over-the-board, etc.) provided they have the potential to last at least 5 minutes in total length. Therefore, we will accept games of 1 minute if they include an increment of at least 15 seconds. We assume that at least 16 moves will be played, thereby bringing the total time to 5 minutes at least. A one-minute clock with a 15-second increment is the shortest result we will accept.

Do you have a rating from another organization?

If you have a previous rating, please type it AND the name of the issuing organization in the space below.

Ratings will be adjusted for you and your opponent based on this game. In case of two players with no rating, both are assumed to begin at 1600. We use a simplified elo-based (Arpad Elo, inventor) rating system, in which the winner gains 4% of the ratings difference added to or subtracted from 16. If you are the lower-rated player, add 4% percent of the ratings difference to 16, and that is how many points you gain for a victory. The higher-rated player would lose as many points. If you are the higher-rated player, subtract 4% of the ratings difference from 16, and you gain the result. The lower-rated player will lose as many points. Draws will result in the gain or loss of less points for each player.
